Struggling Middle-School Students Find Reading Success

“As a special education teacher at the middle school level, I was able to observe Kathy Foster’s teaching of her book…Sound Bytes. Many of the students that Kathy tutored were students with learning disabilities and were reading at about 1st/2nd grade level. These students have a difficult time with retaining information taught to them, but were able to follow and remember instruction from Kathy’s program. One student in particular…made great progress in just the four months that Kathy worked with him. He was reading at the 1st grade level and hated reading…Soon she had him reading chapter books at the 3rd/4th grade level and best of all, he loved to read. He asked to take books home over the summer and now feels better prepared to move onto the next grade level. As a teacher who works daily with below grade level readers, I was very impressed with the program…I would recommend this program to other instructors who work with beginning or struggling readers…”
